Some Notes for Yangtze River Cruise

We are going to tell the tourists who want to take Yangtze River Cruise trip what to be noticed during this cruise, relating some frequently asked questions.

Should I choose Chongqing or Yichang to get on the cruise boat? Which one is better, upstream route or downstream route?

At first, please note that either Yichang or Chongqing used to start the cruise is reasonable arrangement. No matter you start from any of both cities, you will visit the same spots in the included shore excursions at day time.

If you have enough time, you can choose to start the trip from YIchang to Chongqing, which takes 5 Days and 4 Nights. But if your traveling time is limited, it is better to take the downstream cruise starting from Chongqing, which needs 4 Days and 3 Nights. It is helpful to save one night for your whole China tour.
Considering from the price, upstream route (Yichang-Chongqing) is generally cheaper than downstream (Chongqing-Yichang), although the downstream route is shorter. On sales, more tourists choose upstream route.


About Yangtze River Cruise Ticket

1.We suggest you reserve the Yangtze River Cruise tour 15-20 Days in advance to ensure the position.

2.For the baby below 2 years old, the price is 10% of that for an adult. Child aged 2-11 occupying a bed is at 70%-100% of the price for an adult. It depends on cruise company, even though most cruises charge the child 70% of that for an adult. If the child share a bed with parents, he or she will be charged 50%-67% of an adult’s price.

3.If an adult stay in a single room, his price will be 1.75-2 times of the price for an adult on twin sharing basis. Most cruises charge 1.75 times.

4. Electric cruise ticket with confirmation number. You do not need to show your ticket, but show your passport and tell the confirmation number when you check in the cruise boat.

What document do I need to show for check-in?

Just like check-in hotel as Yangtze River Cruise boat is just a flowing deluxe hotel. You need to show your valid documents, such as passport, ID card, MTPs, HVPs. If your document is expired, you might be refused to check in the cruise boat. Therefore, please prepare your valid document before the tour.

Clothing Tips

Casual wear and comfortable shoes on board or during the shore excursions.

Summer: It is hot in Three Gorges Area in summer with long hours of sunshine. We suggest you bring sun cap, sunblock, sunglasses, ect.

Spring and autumn: Sweater, Jacket, umbrella, ect are necessary

Winter: It is quite cold outdoor when the cruise boat is sailing. Please prepare winter clothes and and rain coat.


The Specific Boarding Dock

The cruise boat jetty is not fixed before the afternoon of the day before sailing date. The specific dock is decided by the cruise terminal authorization. Therefore, please call the boat to make sure at which wharf your cruise boat is docked on the cruise day if you only book the ticket with us. The cruise number is shown on the confirmation letter when we confirm the booking to you.



Room assignment on board

1.The tickets generally do not indicate the specific floor and room number. The rooms are assigned by the cruise company before sailing, then the reception make the arrangement accordingly when the passengers check in. It is the same to hotel

2.Foreign guests first. If the room level is the same, the Yangtze River Cruise will give priority to foreigners tourists as they pay higher price. The cruise arrange the guests from same country or same tour group at the same deck. FIT guests are arranged at random. Therefore, we recommend the individual tourists to board the cruise boat earlier. In this case, it is more possible to get a more satisfactory room.

3.The elderly and passenger with mobility problem are give a priority. If you travel with seniors or someone with mobility problem, please inform us in advance. We will contact with the cruise to arrange them to stay on the lobby deck where the restaurant it is.



What to pay attention to after check in

1.Realize your room location on the boat. Please read the emergency Evacuation Chart behind the room door
2.Know the life-jackets storage location in your room and familiar with the wearing steps.
3.Read the scheduled activities on board and decide to join in which one according to your own interests.
4.Know who is the guide on board
5.Know where the restaurant it is
6.Store your values, such as passport
7.Sign bills for the consumption on board, then pay when you check out with 15% service. Credit card and cash are both acceptable.



Can I surf the internet on board?

Generally speaking, the 5 star deluxe Yangtze River Cruise boats have public internet cafe, but the internet is not available in each room. Passenger can get access into internet by the computer in the internet cafe or your own computer, but it needs to pay for use.
