► Location. Yading National Nature Reserve is located in Shangri-la Town, Daocheng County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. It is a bout 80 km from Daocheng County, and takes 1.5 hours of driving.
► Get to Daocheng Yading from Chengdu
By plane.
Chengdu Airport-Daocheng Airport. Tourists could take flight at Chengdu Shuangliu Airport to Daocheng Yading Airport, and everyday, there is one flight from Chengdu to Daocheng.
Daocheng Airport- Daocheng county center. After arriving Daocheng Airport, take airport shuttle bus to Daocheng county center (1 hour/35 yuan).
Daocheng Airport-Shangrila town. Take bus at Daochen Airport to Shangrila town, and the terminal is very close to Yading Nature Reserve (2.5 hours/85 yuan).
► Get to Daocheng Yading from Shangrila, Yunnan
By car rental. From Shangrila, Yunnan to Daocheng Yading, the distance is about 300 km, and it takes about 7 hours.
By air. Fly to Chengdu, then fly to Daocheng.
Yading National Nature Reserve is the southwest of Sichuan Province, adjacent to Shangri-la in Yunnan. Yading National Nature Reserve covers a forest area of 560 square kilometers, rich in plants and animal resources and there are more than 10 mountains with an altitude of more than 5000 meters, and 62 lakes. It is mainly composed of three sacred mountains, namely Xianairi, Yangmaiyong, Xianuoduoji, surrounding rivers, lakes and meadows.
You could see the purity in its natural views, unique landscape, and ecological natural scenery, which you could see in nowhere, and this purity gives Daocheng Yading the praise as the last pure land on this water blue planet. In Daocheng Yading, you could have a great day while visiting grassland full of flowers, brooks with clean water, crystal lakes, forest and mountains covered with white snow.
► Daocheng Yading altitude: over 3, 000 meters. Daocheng has an average altitude of 3,750 meters, and the altitude of Yading is from 2, 900 meters to 6, 032 meters. The highest peak is Xianairi Peak, 6,032 meters high. When travelling in Daocheng Yading, tourists may prepare some medicine for altitude stress.
► Daocheng Yading weather. Due to its high altitude, Daocheng Yading has an average temperature of 20 ℃ in July and August, and the lowest temperature in January could be lower than -20 ℃.
► Best time to visit Daocheng Yading: September, October, April, and May.

► Three Sacred Mountains. Xiannairi, Yangmaiyong and Xianaduoji stand close to each other, and the highest one has an elevation of 6,032 meters. The three sacred mountains have peaks in various shapes, with the top covered with snow, which shines brilliantly and beautifully. You could see lush forests, and waterfalls on the hillside, valleys, lakes and streams at the mountain foot.

► Pearl Lake. Pearl Lake is formed by snow melting in Xiannairi Mountain, covering an area of 0.1 square kilometers. The crystal Pearl Lake is like an emerald inlaid in the dense forest and white mountains. It takes about half an hour’s walk to the Pearl Lake from Chonggu Monastery located at the foot of Xiannairi Mountain.
► Milk Lake is located in the low land of Yangmaiyong Mountain, in a shape of a scallop, and it is named after the out-ring of the lake surrounded by a circle of milky water, while the middle of the lake is azure. Milk Lake is an ancient glacial lake, surrounded by snow mountains.
► Luorong Cattle Ranch. It is surrounded by the three sacred mountains, and Gongga River flows through the grassland. The Ranch, grassland, lake and wooden house form a primitive and charming scenery, and make people feel purity and simplicity. Luorong Cattle Ranch is one of the most famous accommodation places in Yading scenic area, and travelers can choose to camp here.
