► Location. Chengdu Panda Base is located in No. 1375, Wai Xiongmao Avenue, Chenghua District, Chengdu. It is 15 km from Chengdu downtown, and 35 km from Chengdu Airport, and easily accessible by metro and public bus.
For tourists to easily get to Chengdu Panda Base, Chengdu has opened 5 Panda Express Lines so that tourist could take bus to the base. Moreover, in Chengdu, there are express buses which bring tourists from one attraction to another, pretty convenient, and tourists who travel by yourself are recommended to make use of those buses.
► How to get to Chengdu Panda Base
Option 1: by taxi
If tourists take taxi from Chengdu downtown to Chengdu Panda Base, it takes half an hour and the taxi fare is about 50-60 yuan. From Chengdu Airport, the taxi fare is about 200 yuan.
Option 2: by metro and bus
From Chengdu downtown. Tourists could take Metro Line 2 to Chunxi Road, and then take Panda Express Line 5. Or Take this line at Kuanzhai Alley to the panda base.
From Chengdu East Railway Station. Tourists could take Metro Line 2 to Chengdu East Railway Station, get to East Square of the railway station, and then take Panda Express Line 4.
From Chengdu Airport.
Tourists could take Metro Line 10, transfer to Line 3 at Tai Ping Yuan Station, and get off at Panda Avenue Station（ Xiongmao Dadao）, get out from Exit A. Walk to Panda Avenue Bus Station, take Panda Express Line 5, and get off at Chengdu Panda Base Station. At last, walk about 250 meters to get to there.
Or tourists could take shuttle bus directly from Chengdu Airport to Chengdu Panda Base.
Which panda base to visit? In Sichuan, there are 4 panda bases in all, Chengdu Panda Base, Dujiangyan Panda Base, Wolong Panda Base, and Bifengxia Panda Base. Chengdu Panda Base is the most popular one to tourists, due to its short distance from Chengdu and sightseeing highlights.
Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding (hereinafter referred as Chengdu Panda Base) is one of the professional bases for breeding Chinese giant panda where you could see over 100 hundred pandas living in good conditions. Chengdu Panda Base covers an area of 100 hectares, including the Swan Lake, stream, bamboo forest and lawn, and it has villas for child pandas and adult pandas, playgrounds, kitchen, hospital, and nursery rooms for pandas, and in here, pandas are in good care, and live happily.
► Best time to visit Chengdu Panda Base: all year round. Panda like winter and dislike hot days, and if tourists visit the panda base, you may avoid the time period between 12: 00-15:00 in summer, because panda would like to stay somewhere cool for a sleep.
► Open time: 07:30-18:00(all year round), and the ticketing time is from 07: 30 to 17:00.
► Entrance ticket: 55 yuan. Tickets are sold on the internet and in the ticket office of Chengdu Panda Base.
► Ticket for motor-driven tour bus: 10 yuan per person.
Chengdu Panda Base consists of several parts, and tourists could go to each part to watch panda and learn more about panda.
► Giant Panda Sunning Nursery Room and Moon Nursery Room
The Sunning and the Moon Nursery Rooms are the places to see baby pandas. The delivery period of panda is from August to October, and at this time, tourist could see those tiny cute baby pandas.
► Giant Panda Story Cinema
In Giant Panda Story Cinema, tourists could watch a 15 min documentary about Chinese giant panda, and it has Chinese version and English version for tourists.
► Best time to see Chinese giant panda: before 09:30 AM.
Panda has an active time in the morning, because it can't stand heat. The feeding time is from 09:00 AM to 11:00 AM, and tourist could see panda eating their meals. After the meal time, panda would like to have a sleep and wake up in the afternoon.
► What to do in Chengdu Panda Base?
The first thing is to see pandas in villas, playground, kitchen, and nursery rooms.
Second, tourists could know more about Chinese giant panda by visiting places like Chinese Giant Panda Museum, Panda Theatre, Panda Scientific Discovery Center, Panda Story Cinema.
Third, except panda, you could also see other animals like black swan, red panda and peacock.
Last, tourists could buy souvenirs and gifts at the donation place of the Sunning and Moon Nursery Rooms, and your payment is regarded as a donation to Chengdu Panda Base, and you will receive a certificate of this donation.

► Depart to Chengdu Panda Base and arrive there: before 08:00 AM.
► Half day sightseing:
Sightseeing time: 08:00 AM -11: 30 AM. Half day is enough for visiting Chengdu Panda Base.
Sightseeing ways: walk or take the tour bus.
Walking around Chengdu Panda Base takes about 3 hours, and tourists short of time could take tour bus, which would save you about 1 hours. If tourists want to save time for sightseeing, you could also make use of those tour buses.
Sightseeing routes: tourists could go sightseeing according to the tour bus route, or by following the direction of Chengdu Panda Base tourist map.
Tour bus route goes like this: entrance-Swan Lake- Giant Panda Story Cinema-Red Panda Playground-Giant Panda Sunning Nursery Room-No. 2 Giant Panda Villa-Giant Panda Moon Nursery Room-No. 1 Giant Panda Villa.
Giant Panda Moon Nursery Room is the farthest place from the entrance, and the walking time to there is about 30 min.
► Leave Chengdu Panda Base: before 12:00 AM.
► Sightseeing tips:
