Where is Qingcheng Mountian?

Qingcheng Mountain (青城山) is a mountain in Dujiangyan, Sichuan, China. It is amongst the most important centers of Taoism in China. In Taoism mythology, it was the site of the Yellow Emperor's studies with Ning Fengzhi. It is 54km away from Chengdu.

How to get to Qingcheng Mountian from Chengdu?

By High-speed Train (Recommended)

A new express train service now runs from Xipu Railway Station(犀浦站) in Chengdu, with stops at Dujiangyan(都江堰) and Qingchengshan (about 30 minutes). There are 35 trains depart to Qingchengshan from 6:05 am to 22:31 pm. Xipu Railway Station is located in the west of the intersection of Tianfu Road and National Highway 317 in Pidu District, Chengdu. It is a rare platform for both trains and subways transfer in same station. The station is two island platforms with a scale of 450mx15m. The outer side is the Chengdu-Dujiangyan Fast Railway, and the inner side is the Chengdu Metro Line 2. Passengers can take metro line 2 to the Xipu Railway Station.

It is best to buy tickets the day before you depart, as they often sell out ahead of time, even on weekdays. Even if you don't buy tickets ahead, trains leaving Chengdu Xipu are not evenly spaced throughout the day so it's advisable to check the train schedule a day in advance. Train ticket costs ¥10 from Xipu to Qingchengshan.

You should get off at Qingchengshan station. after get out of the railway station, you'll need to take a short bus ride to reach the start of the Qingchengshan trails. Walk out of the train station to the left toward the bus station, generally following the crowd. Take bus 101 for ¥2 which takes you about 2 km from the entrance to the mountain. Or taking 102 will take you there too.

By Tourist Bus from Downtown Scenic Areas

There are some special express buses will take you directly to the gate to Mt. Qingchengshan Scenic Area, some of them will take you to the Qingchnegshan Bus Station.

Buses from People Park(人民公园) to Qingchengshan, depart at 06:30 and there are 2 buses every day
Buses from Kuai Zhai Alley (宽窄巷子)to Qingchengshan, 5 buses every day,two of them depart at 7:00 and the other three depart at 10:00
Buses from Wuhou Temple(武侯祠)/near Jinli Street(锦里街) to Qingchengshan, depart at 09:31 and there are 4 buses every day
Buses from Tianfu Square(天府广场) to Qingchengshan, depart at 09:35 and there are 4 buses every day

By Long-distance Bus

Visitors can take bus at Xin Nan Men Bus Station(新南门汽车站) in Chengdu to Qingchengshan Mountain. It is located in No. 2 Xinnan Road, Wuhou District, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, China There is only one bus and it leaves at 8:30 every morning. Ticket fare is about 25 yuan.

Note: You may want to visit Dujiangyan Irrigation System after a trek up the mountain, which is the last stop for bus number 101 and leaves from the Qingchengshan parking lot.
