Chengdu has several railway stations, and Chengdu East Railway Station(成都东站), Chengdu South Railway Station (成都南站) and Chengdu Railway Station(成都站) are the most used ones. There are more than 17 trains departing from Chengdu Railway Station to Emeishan Railway Station every day, including regular trains, bullet trains and one high-speed train. The journey takes about 1h5m to 2h50m. The first train departs at 06:18 and the last one departs at 20:59 The ticket fare ranges from 21.5 to 185 yuan depending on which standard seat you are taking. The Emeishan Railway Station on the Chengdu-Kunming Railway Line is only 3 kilometers away from the Baoguo Temple. From the Emeishan train station, bus No.5A, 12, 5 directly transfers to the main gate of Baoguo Temple. Baoguo Temple is the departing point for buses going up mount Emei and also the starting point for trekking. Or you can get to by taxi from the railway station.
How to get to Mt. Emei from Chengdu by tourist bus? There are 5 tourist buses depart at 06:50 every day from Kuai Zhai Alley in Chengdu to Mt. Emei. The journey will only need 2.5 hours and the ticket fare is about 150 yuan. The bus will take you directly to the tourist distribution area of Baoguo Temple in Mount Emei and you don't need to transfer.

How to get to Mt. Emei from Chengdu by bus? Visitors can take long distance bus at Xin Nan Men Bus Station(新南门汽车站) in chengdu, where there have buses heading to Emeishan City every day. Buses from Xin nan men bus station to Emeishan starts every 30 minutes from 6:40 to 19:20. The first bus departs at 06:40 and last bus departs at 19: 20. The journey will only need 2.5 hours and the ticket fare is about 41 yuan.
After arriving at the bus station in Emei City, tourists can change for the bus to the Baoguo Temple (the main gate of the Mount Emei Scenic Area), which is situate at the foot of the mountain and is the largest temple on Mount Emei. Or you can change for a taxi to Baoguo Temple, which is the most convenient way and is highly recommended.
To be noticed, there are two stations in Emei, one is Jiuzhu Passenger Center, which is 6 km away from Emei Mount Scenic Area, the other is located inside Emei Mount Scenic Area. So, when you get on the bus, you should ask the steward which station the bus will finally stop at. If you get off at Jiuzhu Passenger Center, just change to a taxi to get the scenic spot.
