How to Get to Mount Siguniang from Chengdu, Sichuan

Where is Mt.Siguniang?

Mount Siguniang(四姑娘山), literally known as "Four Girls Mountain" or "Four Sisters Mountain", is located in the junction of Xiaojin County and Wenchuan County, Xiaojin County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, China. It is 260 km away from Chengdu downtown. To get to Mount Siguniang from Chengdu, visitors can either take coach from local bus station or rent a car through travel agent to drive you there. How to get to Mount Siguniang?

By Car Rental(Recommended)

Car Rental is the most convenient and comfortable way to get to Mount Siguniang from Chengdu, Sichuan. But the price is quite expensive if there are few people to share the cost together. It takes about 6 to 7 hours driving from Chengdu to Mount Siguniang for one way. The landscape along the way is quite beautiful and you do not need to worry about the boring. In addition, you can stop to take picture at any time if you travel by car rental.

The driving route could be: Chengdu-Dujiangyan, 46km -Yingxiu, 34km - Wolong, 49km - Mount Balang, 60km - Mount Siguniang Town, 31km

By Bus

Bus is a cheaper way for traveling. But the number of buses leaving for Mount Siguniang is quite limited and the buses have fixed departure time. You may take the bus at Chadianzi Bus Station in Chengdu that leaves for Xiaojin (小金in Chinese). Chengdu-Xiaojin bus (成都-小金 in Chinese) will pass by Mount Siguniang Town, where you should get off. Then you stay overnight in Mount Siguniang Town for one night and then start your tour in Mount Siguniang next day.

The bus from Chengdu Chadianzi Bus Station departs at about 7:00 am every day. The journey will take about 6 to 8 hours from Chengdu to Mount Siguniang Town. And the coach journey will pass by the famous Dujiangyan, Yinxiu, Wolong Giant Panda Reserves, four-thousand-meter high Balong Mountain. The view is beautiful and you will not be bored. But due to the high altitude, the temperature in this area would be quite low. Please prepare some warm clothes, even you travel there in summer.

Travel Tips

Mount Siguniang Scenic Area consists of Shuangqiao Valley, Changping Valley, Haizi Valley and Mount Siguniang. Changping Valley is sited right in Mount Siguniang Town, where is suitable for you to experience horse riding. Shuangqiao Valley is located on the way from Mount Siguniang Town to Xiaojin County, so you can take sightseeing bus to enjoy the view of Shuangqiao Valley. Haizi Valley is located in halfway up to Mount Siguniang from the foot of Mount Balang, and it is a good site to have a full view of Mount Siguniang.
July and October is the best season to visit Mount Siguniang, when is time for enjoy mountain flowers in full bloom, beautiful. In addition, from mid-October to mid-November, the autumn scenery in Mount Siguniang is very charming as well.
